Weapon Switching - Updated V1.3

 

This script allows you to easilly have a unit carry 2 primary weapons. For example, it will allow you to equip a sniper with both an M24 and an MP5SD5. It was originally made for the mission titled CO 1-2 Operation Shining Anvil to enable the player sniper to carry an MP5 as well as the sniper rifle. I thought that it would prove to be very useful for some people.

 

Features:

  • This script will work regardless of addons used.
  • Using this script will not give the players free rounds if they switch weapons before a magazine is empty. They will retain the magazine with the spent rounds.
  • Animation and sound played when the player switches weapons.
  • This script does not give the players extra ammo space, requiring them to carefully balance their ammunition selections.
  • The player can pick up and drop weapons in either weapon slot at will.
  • Supports join in progress, teamswitching, and all respawning modes.

Compatibility:

  • Tested Armed Assault v1.08 compatible. Older Versions not tested. It should work on any later version.

Multiplayer:

  • 100% MP compatible.

Burning Buildings

 

  • You can set this to burn any building at specific coordinates (with a little play room).
  • It also supports making any building that has sustained at least 66% damage burn.
  • A building will burn for the amount of time you specify (with a randomised deviation), then collapse. It will then continue to burn and smolder for the time you specify (again with a randomised deviation).
  • If a person gets too close to the fire, it hurts them.
  • The fires will light up the area at night.

Dynamic Weather And Time Flow

 

  • Dynamic Weather:
    • Weather is randomised and changes depending on the interval specified by the calling script.
  • Time Flow Modifier:
    • Environmental time is accelerated by whatever degree the is passed to the script. This only effects the environmentals, and not the actual game play speed.

This suite of scripts and demo mission have one purpose in mind. Populate Sahrani without lag!

 

Compatibility:

  • Tested Armed Assualt v1.02 compatible. Older Versions not tested. It should work on any later version.

 

Multiplayer:

  • Untested and unlikely. I do not have 2 machines capable of running ARMA. If you would like to adapt this suite of scripts to MP, go for it.

This script was one of the first few publicly released for ARMA (ARMA was a newly released game at the time). At the time, I considered it too small and simple to warrant a demo mission and full readme, and I still do. If you want it, it is included in the populate island pack above, as it is used there.
